Guidelines

  1. Applications for admission must be submitted by the deadline stated on the University website.
  2. Only one application can be submitted per semester.
  3. To start a new application, please go to the ‘My Application” tab and click on ‘Start New Application’.
  4. Select the program you wish to apply for, enter your nationality and click ‘Continue’. The relevant application form will be displayed based on this information. Please note that some programs are open to UAE Nationals only.
  5. Please note that scholarships are awarded subject to availability and will be confirmed at the conclusion of the admission process. No additional application is required to be considered for a scholarship.
  6. There are seven sections to be completed in the application form (Personal Details, Academic Qualifications, Scholarship and Employment Details, Housing and Transport, Referees, Attachments, Terms and Conditions).
  7. Each section has mandatory fields that must be completed before the application can be submitted.
  8. In the ‘Add Referee’ section, please provide a minimum of two referees. We recommend listing up to five potential referees to ensure that at least two responses are received. When the application is submitted, an automatic e-mail will be sent to each referee with access to an online reference form. Please note that the University does not accept reference letters in hard copy or via e-mail.
  9. In the ‘Attachments’ section, please upload all the mandatory documents. All documents supplied as part of the application process are the property of Khalifa University of Science and Technology and will not be returned to the candidate, regardless of the outcome of the application.
  10. In the ‘Admissions Agreement’ section, please read the Terms and Conditions carefully before ticking to confirm that you agree. Applications will not be considered until the Terms and Conditions are accepted.
  11. If you wish to finish your application later, please click on the ‘Save’ button and log out.
  12. Once your application is completed, please click on the ‘Submit’ button. Please note that you will not be able to make any changes after submission, except for uploading additional documents.
  13. The Admissions Office will not accept any documents in hard copy. Documents should be scanned and uploaded with your online application, according to the following guidelines:
    • Documents must be in PDF format with a maximum file size of 4MB
    • Photographs must be in JPEG format with a maximum file size of 2MB
    • GRE certificate is a mandatory document in the ‘Attachments’ section. Applicants can upload the extracted PDF report available in the GRE online account 10 days after sitting the exam.
    • PhD Applicants with GRE quantitative score less than 155 are required to submit a peer-reviewed journal publication (indexed at Web of Science/ SCOPUS). Applicant has the option to submit a list of citations or upload the journal paper(s).
    • Statement of Purpose is mandatory for all applicants and should be within 500 – 1000 words (statements beyond this limit may not be considered).
    • Research Statement is mandatory for all PhD applicants and should be within 500 – 1000 words (statements beyond this limit may not be considered).

Section (2): Master degree applicants have to submit the following documents in addition to the documents listed in section 1
1Bachelor degree certificate or letter confirming graduation date *
2Bachelor degree transcript showing the grading scale used by the awarding institution *
3Equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education for the Bachelor degree certificate (only if you have graduated from an institution outside UAE)
Section (3): PhD degree applicants have to submit the following documents in addition to the documents listed in section 1
1Bachelor degree certificate or letter confirming graduation date *
2Bachelor degree transcript showing the grading scale used by the awarding institution *
3Equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education for the Bachelor degree certificate (only if you have graduated from an institution outside UAE)
4Master degree certificate or letter confirming graduation date *
5Master degree transcript showing the grading scale used by the awarding institution *

Please note the following:
1Documents marked with (*) are mandatory for submitting the online application, which means that the application cannot be submitted if any of these documents are not uploaded. The other documents should be uploaded only if available or requested by Khalifa University of Science and Technology academic or administrative staff members.
2Accepted applicants will be asked to submit their official documents before they register for classes. All official documents received after acceptance are the property of Khalifa University of Science and Technology and will not be returned.
3Satisfying the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to Khalifa University of Science and Technology. However, failure to satisfy the minimum admission requirements may result in denied application.
4Please note that incomplete applications may not be considered.
